Grand-mère

Ma chère grand-mère.

A l’âge de 15 ans j’ai connu une de mes grands-mères

Et à 16 ans l’autre grand-mère.

Nous ne parlions pas la même langue.

Je ne connaissais pas la langue de mes familles, originaire du même pays.

Mes parents n’ont pas jugé utile de me la transmettre.

 

Alors en te créant

Tu es devenue ma grand-mère de cœur.

J’aime tes rides, porteuse d’histoire de vie pas facile

Qui sont pour moi comme un voile d’un passé. 

 

My dear Grandmother, 

At the age of fifteen , I became acquainted with one of my Grandmother. 

At sixteen , I met the other Grandmother .

We did not speak the same language

I did not know my family 's tongue from the same country .My parents did not judge necessary to teach it to me .

While creating yourself, 

You , my beloved Grandmother, 

I loved your wrinkles telling the history of a hard life , 

Which are, for me, like a veil of a past.

 

Babcia

Moja ulubiona babcia.

Jak miałam piętnaście lat, poznałam jedną z moich babć.

W wieku szesnastu lat poznałam drugą babcię.

Nie mówiłyśmy tym samym językiem.

Nie znałam języka moich przodków, z ich ojczyzny.

Moi rodzice nie uważali tego za przydatne.

 

Więc stworzyłam Ciebie.

Zostałaś moją kochaną babcią.

Kocham twoje zmarszczki, nosicielki historii niełatwego życia,

które są dla mnie jak przesłanie z przeszłości.
